For over forty years before his untimely death in 2013, Storm Thorgerson was a designer of record covers and director of music videos, films, and TV commercials. As famed design company, Hipgnosis, Thorgerson along with Aubrey (Po) Powell and later partner Peter Christopherson created some of the most recognized and iconic record sleeves in the history of Rock and Roll including THE DARK SIDE OF THE MOON for Pink Floyd and HOUSES OF THE HOLY for Led Zeppelin among hundreds of others for bands such as Genesis and Peter Gabriel, Paul McCartney and Wings, 10cc, Black Sabbath, UFO and T-Rex. Thorgerson continued his work with StormStudios in later years working with musicians such as Muse, The Cranberries, Steve Miller, Catherine Wheel, The Mars Volta, Audioslave, and Biffy Clyro.

TAKEN BY STORM: THE ART OF STORM THORGERSON AND HIPGNOSIS is the film that gives you the intimate behind the scenes tales of the creation of many of these designs including Pink Floyd’s THE DARK SIDE OF THE MOON, WISH YOU WERE HERE, ANIMALS and A MOMENTARY LAPSE OF REASON, HOUSES OF THE HOLY and PRESENCE for Led Zeppelin, Peter Gabriel'S “MELT”, CHROME for Catherine Wheel and numerous other beguiling album imagery and for the very first time gathers David Gilmour and Nick Mason from Pink Floyd, Robert Plant, Graham Gouldman, Alan Parsons, Steve Miller, Noel Hogan and Fergal Lawler of The Cranberries, Simon Neil and James Johnston from Biffy Clyro, Cedric Bixler Zavala of The Mars Volta, and Dominic Howard from Muse and photographers, illustrators, and graphic artists who worked closely with Thorgerson throughout his career to explore his unique vision and creative drive.
